We have featured a lot of different beers here at MTP, but we haven't yet featured where you can sit in and enjoy some quality brews.  Here are our top 5 beer focused bar/restaurant/eateries across the 5 Boroughs of New York City.  A lot of incredible places were left off of this list, but that's what happens when you choose only one per borough.  This list is subject to change over time, so we promise to continue eating and drinking like gluttons everywhere we go.  It's a tough job, but it must be done.

The Bronx
The Bronx Ale House - 216 W 238th St.

Just 4 blocks shy of the last stop on the 1 Train, this is easily the northern most destination on the list.  I don't care where you're starting out from, though- as long as you end up here, you will be thankful.  You are given free popcorn while you're there, the beer menu is extensive, and the food is excellent.  There are TVs throughout the bar that display all of the beers on tap and how full the kegs are.  The Bronx Ale House can get pretty crowded, so try it out for lunch on a weekend so that you can relax and eat and drink for as long as you want to.

Brooklyn
Henry Street Ale House - 62 Henry St.

If you find yourself on the A train and in the mood for good food and brews, get off at High Street and walk over to the Henry Street Ale House.  This should also be your finish line anytime you walk over the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan.  It doesn't cater to the beer geeks, but it's exactly what you want in a pub: comfortable atmosphere, friendly people, great food, and more than a handful of great beer choices.

Manhattan
Bondurants - 303 E 85th St.

Bondurants is perfect if you're looking for a place to go with friends that don't all have the same taste in booze.  The bartenders are very friendly and helpful with recommendations.  Their whiskey list is extremely impressive and their beers on tap are always reliable.  Bondurants is described on their website as a "Neighborhood bar focused on small batch bourbons, local distilleries, handcrafted cocktails and a constantly rotating draft list."  While all of that is true, they should have also added "incredible food" to their list.

Staten Island
Adobe Blues - 63 Lafayette Ave.

Staten Island is often treated like the forgotten and neglected borough, but I'm not going to do that.  Not while Adobe Blues is on the island at least.  Adobe has an incredible atmosphere and neighborhood feel.  It's been around for forever, which makes sense considering the great staff, delicious tex-mex, and long list of beer.  Don't worry- You can enjoy some chips and salsa while poring over the extensive beer menu.

Queens
Astoria Bier and Cheese - 3414 Broadway

If I had to choose two things (with no regard to nutritional value) to live off of for the rest of my life, I'd cheerfully choose beer and cheese.  Even if you don't share my intense love for beer and cheese, any normal (lactose-tolerant) person will find something to enjoy here.  You can either sit in and have a plate of cheese paired with your beer of choice or you can fill up a growler and grab some snacks to go.  There's also a large selection of refrigerated and unrefrigerated beers in addition to the drafts.  With so many options to choose from, it may take you a little while to decide what you want.  There's no waiting service, so make sure that you snag a seat once you order at the register.
